Preparation Tips for Optimal Use

To achieve the best results with your Demo Kit, we have some preparation tips that we recommend you follow:

  • Magnetic Support Disc Maintenance: Regularly check the planeness of your magnetic support disc to avoid prolonging the preparation steps. Use a straightedge for inspection and the included dressing stick to maintain a level surface.
  • Diamond Suspension Dosing: Apply the diamond suspension at the recommended level (0.5 – 1.5 ml/min) to keep the preparation disc moist, but not wet. This prevents the “hydroplaning” effect, which can extend preparation time.
  • Force Setting Adjustment: Ensure accurate force settings as variations between different machines can affect results. Adjust based on the total sample area and the specific machine used.
  • Sample Positioning: Position samples correctly relative to the preparation disc to achieve the fastest preparation results and best surface quality. About one-third of the sample should pass over the edge of the disc.
