The self-adhesive Aka-polishing cloths have a water, ethanol and oil resistant polymer barrier layer laminated to the cloth fiber, protecting the cloth texture from wear and assuring that the diamonds are kept in good contact with the sample surface for a fast preparation at a minimum cost. A low tack glue keeps the polishing cloth safely on the disc, yet allows for easy removal of the polishing cloth without leaving any residue on the preparation disc.

The Mag-type polishing cloths for use on magnetic support discs are identical to the cloths described above, but laminated on steel discs. These steel discs are equipped with 3 tabs for easy removal.

Polishing cloths for metals and other materials

Our wide range of polishing cloths covers fine grinding, diamond polishing, final diamond polishing and oxide polishing and provides outstanding preparation results of all materials including metals.

  • Plaran is a woven nylon cloth for fine grinding of soft materials and polishing of hard materials. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 15 – 3 µm.
  • Paran-S is a non-woven polyester cloth for fine grinding of soft materials and polishing of hard materials. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 15 – 1 µm.
  • Silk is a 100% woven silk polishing cloth for fine grinding of ferrous metals and polishing, including final polishing and oxide polishing of harder materials and coatings. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 9 – 0.25 µm.
  • Ramda is a woven acetate cloth for polishing of all materials. It is harder than Daran. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 3 – 1 µm.
  • Daran is a woven acetate cloth for polishing of all materials. It is softer than Ramda and can also be used for oxide polishing. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 6 – 0.25 µm.
  • Moran-U is a 100% woven wool cloth for polishing and final polishing of non-ferrous and ferrous metals. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 6 – 1 µm.
  • Moran is a 100% woven wool cloth for polishing of non-ferrous and ferrous metals. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 6 – 3 µm.
  • Plural is a flocked viscose cloth for fast, one-step polishing of steels, sintered carbides and other hard materials. It can also be used for polishing unmounted samples. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 3 – 1 µm.
  • Napal is a flocked viscose cloth for final polishing of all materials, including oxide polishing. Recommended to be used with diamond suspension 1 – 0.025 µm.
  • Chemal is a synthetic foam cloth for chemical/mechanical final polishing of all materials with oxide suspensions.
